Who We Are
Who We Are...
We are totally new to this thing!! We are just two people who found each other in the strangest of ways. It all began on a Monday night in September of 2009. A nervous, rookie musical director was leading his first night of auditions for a show when he noticed a young, nervous auditionee. The two ended up reading together a part for the musical “Narnia” with her as the White Witch and him as Aslan. That night the seed was planted for a wonderful friendship. As rehearsals started and progressed, the two started talking and became friends. The two were cast as the old, bickering Mr. and Mrs. Beaver for “Narnia”. Talking randomly and casually at rehearsal revealed that the two had a lot in common and enjoyed many of the same things. Occasional talking developed into more frequent and open conversations (most via AIM or facebook). Both were dealing with many personal and private matters and they began to share their thoughts and concerns with one another and became true and deep friends. As time progressed, the two experienced joys and trials of different kinds such as working together in the cast of “Godspell” and different significant changes and disappointments in life. In May of 2010, things changed drastically in his life, and the red-headed boy and sun-kissed girl started spending more time together. From swimming at her home to spending time with friends, the friendship developed more and more. One June night was all it took to make the friendship change into something more. She was nannying for a friend at the lake, and he, the white knight in the silver car, came to rescue her at the end of the week. On the long drive home, he took her hand and held it. Now, he’ll never let go. For the last three months, a wonderful relationship has developed and now, almost a year to the day that they met at auditions, the two are lovebirds looking forward to the future and the life God has in store for them…together…
Who Melissa Is…
I am a 26 year old college graduate who’s still looking for how to put my education to good use. I am an only child (tho most people say you’d never know it) and am very close to both of my parents. I was born and raised to love God, my family, my friends, country music, and Georgia Bulldogs Football! I graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 2007 with a journalism degree in Broadcast News. Since then, I’ve worked for Hall County Sports, WDUN AM 550, MAJIC 102.9, and Accessnorthga.com. Since leaving Access, I’ve continued my 10-year-long career as a swimming lessons instructor, was a substitute teacher, and have now found myself working at Lanier Technical College. I am what you might call a theatre geek; I love Broadway and any type of theatrical production. In the last year, I’ve found my creative outlet with Fifth Row Center, a community theatre based in Flowery Branch, GA. I enjoy singing and dancing (tap especially), being both in front of and behind the stage, reading, and traveling anywhere I can afford to go!
Who Andy Is…
I am a 28 year old fool for coffee, fries, and laughing out loud (in no specific order). I am the oldest of two boys (my brother’s name is Matt) born to two wonderful and next-to-perfect parents who had a tremendous impact on my view of faith, hard work, love and the world. I grew up in Suwanee, GA (just north of Atlanta) and I’ve recently found myself back there. I graduated from high school and went away to the 13th grade at Oakwood U (aka Gainesville State College). I graduated with my associate’s degree in psychology and have been working jobs to make ends meet since including a day care, driving a school bus, working fast food, working retail, merchandising and marketing inside Home Depot, installing satellite dishes, and finally doing reporting and answering phones in an office for a marketing company. I am a May 2011 graduate of the University of Phoenix where I received my degree in education. I am certified now to teach K-8th grade and hoping to find a job in a school soon. I love God and the church and have had the opportunity to work for both including leading worship, working as a children’s pastor, and working as a youth pastor. I love theater, music, movies, books, football, napping, eating, exercising (when I get motivated), good hearted people, and having a good time.
