When the cat’s away…

When the cat’s away, the mice will  play!  In this case, I’m the cat and Mallory and Kira are the resident mice of Lanier Tech!  I returned from a week long business trip to find this taped to the back of my door…it’s a wedding countdown chain!  Complete with 103 rings (w/dates), two of which are highlighted for my convenience (for their birthdays), and 4 beautiful wedding photos of Andy and me courtesy of faceinhole.com.
I certainly feel LOVED!
In other news, Charlotte’s Web is up and running!  I was assistant director for the production and Andy designed the set.  We had a pretty good openning night for our first show in the historic Flowery Branch Depot.  After a jumbled Saturday matinee, we had an AWESOME show Saturday night, then an even more interesting show on Sunday.  About 10 minutes before curtain, a little kid (too young to know better) pulled the fire alarm!  It took nearly 30 minutes to silence the beeping!  The fire dept. came and couldn’t get it off, no one was there from the city, so they ended up flipping the breaker to kill it.  Despite all that, the audience enjoyed sitting in the BEAUTIFUL weather while they waited :-)
Andy’s off from his night time job this week, so we hope to work in the yard of OUR house…well…our rental house.  Then, it’s zumba for me tomorrow and Fusion band practice for him on Wednesday.  At least Andy gets to work one more week then has spring break from teaching.  I’m so proud of him for working this killer schedule!  And he’s awesome in the band at Fusion…ya’ll should come and hear him play!
Happy Monday!

2/11/11
So we haven’t updated our blog here in like, well, 3 months. What HORRIBLY INCONSISTENT BLOGGERS we are?!? It’s okay though. I invite you back, please. A ton has happened since our last post where I was dressed up as Santa (yeah I know back in December). The most substantial and important news is that we are officially engaged!!! I proposed on February 11th at The Springs Church (in the room we met as strangers just a year and half ago). So her beautiful hand has a beautiful ring on it. We have also officially set a date!! We are getting married on June 25th at Poplar Springs Baptist. We are very excited!! Not much time left to plan but we see no reason worth waiting so we are going for it!! I love that chick with all my heart and I have no doubt in my mind we will have an amazing life together and grow really old and sit in rocking chairs on our front porch and tell stories!!
On a different note, I also started my student teaching experience back on Valentine’s Day. So I am officially 3 weeks and 2 days through my 12 week program that is the last step before I can graduate!! Words cannot express how overjoyed I am to think that, God willing, I will be done with school after a long, LONG journey and will be certified and licensed to teach. If all works as I would dream, I would find a job in the fall and be the happiest man in the world with a gorgeous and wonderful new wife and launching into a career that I am passionate about and can use my abilities and experience to make a difference in the lives of kids. Oh the day cannot come soon enough.
So if you pray, pray for us!! We need it! God has already provided in great ways (great tax return/great deal online to afford awesome Mexico honeymoon, we have a house to rent for a very reasonable price, etc.) but we are still following and trusting God’s direction and hoping for an amazing, memorable, and “without a hitch” wedding/honeymoon/transition and then a job opportunity in the fall. It’s so exciting!! I vow to try to update more often. Check out our Knot wedding website for more wedding related info by clicking here
